Satsuma Mandarins

Hardiest of all mandarins the Satsuma is a unique and flavorful citrus fruit. Seedless and easy to peel, they have excellent flavor when ripe in the winter months.

They store well when refrigerated but not well on the tree.

Satsumas are sweet and juicy, and their deep orange colored flesh makes it a feast for the eyes as well.
Legend has it that the Satsuma was brought from China to Japan almost 500 years ago. It was later named for a province in southern Kyushu, Japan.
