Shipping, Billing & Returns Policy

Shipping Prices

Please see the "Shipping" tab on the individual product page for current shipping pricing for that product. We do not deliver on Sundays or holidays. The Fruit Company will send you a shipment confirmation with tracking information for your reference. Please check your spam folder and make sure TheFruitCompany.com is an accepted e-mail address. If you lost your tracking number or are otherwise unable to locate it, please contact Customer Service.

Delivery Guarantee

We guarantee delivery to the addresses you provide*. Before you order, please verify the addresses and the availability of your recipient. If we encounter an error such as an incorrect address, failed delivery attempt or weather delays, we will be unable to guarantee a specific delivery date. Please note that UPS delivery times are between the hours of 9:00 am and the end of the day to residences and by the close of business for commercial addresses. If you have questions, please call us at (800) 387-3100.
*We will not replace or refund: Deliveries that are lost/stolen, Deliveries that are not picked up from the address or an Access Point within a reasonable amount of time, or Deliveries that are unable to be delivered due to incomplete or incorrect addresses that are provided to The Fruit Company during the order process.

Access Point Deliveries

Due to the recent rise in porch thefts and other complications, shipping carriers have developed "access point" policies. Carriers such as UPS have designated areas that they feel are at too high of risk to leave packages or is too difficult for the driver to access. If nobody is available on the first attempt, they will automatically keep the package at an "Access Point". If UPS has redirected your package to an Access Point, they will leave a note for the recipient and the gift will be available to pick up the following day. Access Point addresses are identified via the UPS Tracking Number. Please be aware that The Fruit Company has no control over Access Point deliveries and will not be responsible for replacing gifts that are not picked up or have spoiled due to leaving them too long prior to pick up.

Delivery Dates

In some cases, UPS expedites deliveries, so your gift will arrive on or before the specified delivery date. If you would like to choose a specific delivery date, please choose overnight shipping or 2-day shipping. We are unable to honor requests for specific arrival dates for Monthly Fruit Club gifts because the harvest schedule determines the shipping schedule.

Incorrect Addresses/Reroutes

If your gift requires a change in address by the shipping carrier, please call us immediately. If your gift is already with UPS, you will be charged a $10 re-routing fee.


While we do not require delivery signatures, our shipping carriers may require signatures for certain types of deliveries, including those to apartments or offices.

Failed Delivery Attempts

If a signature is required by an office, apartment building or other address, UPS will attempt to deliver up to three times. After the third attempt, the gift will be returned to The Fruit Company. Failed delivery attempts do not qualify for replacements or refunds. If your gift does not arrive as expected, please call customer service at (800) 387-3100.

Gift Add-Ons

We have items that can be added on during the purchase of certain gifts. These include:  chocolate-covered pears, chocolate-covered cherries or blueberries, Award-Winning fresh cheeses, premium cider, seasonal shortbread cookies, special occasion ribbons, and our beautiful watercolor boxes designed by a local Oregon artist.   Be sure to check the add-on box on the product page to see what add-ons we offer for that gift!

Delivery to Hospitals, Hotels and College Campuses

Due to delivery complications, we do not recommend sending gifts to hospitals, hotels or college campuses. UPS, FedEx, and USPS do NOT deliver directly to a hospital patient's room or a student's specific dorm room. Per policies in place for security and confidentiality reasons, packages sent to patients at a hospital or students on a college campus are delivered to the institution's main mail room or a reception area. Delivery is complete once the package is delivered to the hospital or college campus. Hospital/College staff are responsible for distributing packages to patients/students and any questions regarding delivery will need to be directed to the hospital/college from there.
If you decide to send a gift to one of these locations, please call them and find out the following information:

  1. What is their policy on accepting packages? Some locations do not accept packages or have special guidelines and restrictions.
  2. How are the packages received and what needs to be included in the address? Oftentimes specific buildings, departemnts, and/or room numbers need to be included
  3. We cannot guarantee that packages will be delivered to recipients at hospitals, hotels and college campuses. We are not responsible for gifts that are lost on-site or for gifts that arrive after a patient/guest has checked out.

Delivery to Alaska and Hawaii

Please allow three additional days for standard shipping to Alaska and Hawaii. Please also check recipient delivery schedules as some addresses are so remote in these locations that packages are shipped to a hangar or other central point that only deliver once/week.

Agricultural Restrictions

Due to agricultural restrictions, citrus cannot be shipped to Arizona and pineapple cannot be shipped to Hawaii.

Delivery Outside the United States

We are unable to ship outside the United States.

P.O. Boxes

We are unable to ship to P.O. Boxes.


We are unable to ship to APO/FPO addresses.


Return and Substitution Policies


The Fruit Company products (fruit baskets, fruit gift towers and boxes, cheese, meat, nuts, dried fruit, chocolate dipped fruit, and desserts) are perishable and cannot be returned. These products are covered by our Satisfaction Guarantee and will be replaced if they arrive damaged.


We make every effort to ensure that the fruit and gourmet food items we feature on our site are in season and available. In some areas with a shorter growing season, this is not possible. For optimal freshness and quality, or due to seasonality, The Fruit Company reserves the right to substitute certain items of equal or higher value and appearance. Our customer service department will contact you if a major substitution is necessary.

Billing Payment Terms and Conditions

We accept VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express credit cards as forms of payment.  We bill for the entire order at the time of purchase.
